Activity: Painting the Inside Walls of a House
Type of Activity: CreativityNumber of Hours: 6
In the summer of 2011, one of my best friends moved back to Holland and her house needed to be returned to the owner in its original state, meaning that all of the walls needed to be repainted. Her family needed help with this so I spent a whole day at her house painting various walls white. It was tiring, but also great fun as there were more friends around, and with the company of music, time flew by. The work consisted of taping the edges so the wooden borders on the floor and ceiling wouldn't get white, and paint the edges of the walls with a small brush. Finally, a big roll-brush was used to put the white paint on the walls more efficiently.
After about two walls, I started to get tired and the fun of it was pretty much gone. However, I made a promise which I needed to keep and I planned not to leave the house before all the painting was done. By the end of the day, I was very tired but it was satisfying to be a help to the family and make the process of moving a little bit easier for them.
When all the work was done, we ended the tiring but fun day with a paint fight, and if I could, I would repeat the day without a doubt because it was tiring but also a lot of fun!
