Activity: Creating posters for Events for the Dutch Community

Throughout my time in the IB, I have participated quite actively in the Dutch events organized by the Dutch community. Examples include Queensday on the 30th of April, and Dutch Christmas on the 5th of Decembers. The community asked me to create posters to hang around schools and the classrooms in which Dutch children living in Portugal have Dutch lessons, to inform them and their parents about the event. I have spent many hours creating posters, colouring them, going to Staples to make numerous photocopies etc. The reason why I chose to accept this challenge is because I have always felt like I am an artistic person and I still regret not taking Arts in the IB, because I truly enjoy improving my artistic skills, drawing, painting etc. I combined my imagination with images from the internet to make happy and colourful posters that should attract people and make them want to attend the event. It ended up taking much longer than I initially expected, but the feedback I got from the posters was always kind and enthusiastic, leading to me taking up further challenges and wanting to do it again.
