Creativity - Photographing the Boys' Football Tournament

Activity: Photographing Football Tournament
Type of Activity: Creativity
Number of Hours: 10

At the end of March, St. Julians hosted a football tournament for about 8 teams from all over Portugal that was held on the campus of St. Julians. Mr Dunn had asked me to come and take photos and so I used all my frees, lunchtimes, and the saturday of the tournament to come watch the games and take many photos of the individuals and various team photos. I have always had a passion for photography, and received a new camera for my 18th birthday, thus this was a good opportunity to use it. I had fun exploring the different functions of the camera, as in what settings to use for moving players with the right amount of light displayed in the picture, and which lens to use for the different images. I felt like I have gotten to know my camera so much better throughout these three days, because it is just a matter of trying things out rather than reading the manuals only. I had some very positive feedback from the players and Mr Dunn, since the photos were displayed in the Soft Rock on a big screen. I enjoyed taking photos of the games since it was nice and sunny outside, and since I did not only do Mr Dunn a favour, but also made many improvements personally in terms of handling my camera.

Here are some examples of photos I took:
